Benzoyl Peroxide Really Works in Treating Acne, For Short Term

Benzoyl peroxide is one very popular treatment for acne. It is commonly seen in many acne products available outside. Benzoyl simply works by killing P.acnes, which is a bacteria found to be one of the causes for acne. Not only that, it is also an antiseptic and oxidising agent, and will also unclogged clogged pores. Unclogging clogged pores enables sebum to be release, hence reducing the chances of acne occurrence. It also has anti inflammatory effects.

Impressive? Yes it is. Benzoyl peroxide is exactly what you need when you want fast, immediate effect to clear away your acne. It has three features (as mention earlier) that can help you to tackle your acne problems. But depending on benzoyl peroxide alone for your long term acne treatment is not a smart choice.

If you look carefully at the advantages of using benzoyl peroxide, you will realize that all these are external factors. Benzoyl peroxide are applied on your acne spot and you will get instant effect. But have you ever ask yourself before, why do I suddenly have acne? Because of clogged pores? Than you will go deeper and find out why you get clogged pores, why you get overactive sebum production?

If you are fast, you can see that benzoyl peroxide does not tackle your root of problems for acne. I'm not trying to discredit the effectiveness of benzoyl peroxide, yes it is a good short term treatment, but for you to get rid of your acne problem once and for all, I don't think benzoyl peroxide as a solution alone is enough.

Yes you can argue that you can use benzoyl peroxide treatment regularly, it does seems like a great solution to keep clearing up all the clogged pores. But! There is one big problem going on now. Benzoyl peroxide does not come 100% friendly to your skin; one of the biggest disadvantages about using benzoyl peroxide is that, they can cause skin irritation easily. Anyone who has experience skin irritation when using benzoyl peroxide should stop immediately. Also, having a dry skin does not make you better looking than one with acne. And whoever thinking of using benzoyl treatment regularly for their acne treatment must be crazy.

Thumbs up for benzoyl peroxide if you want see fast effects (everyone wants it), thumbs down if you want to rely on benzoyl peroxide for your long term acne prevention.
