Acne Vulgaris - Challenge What You Are Eating To See Relief

Most families eat the same food for their entire lives. Human children will follow the lead of their parents, just as animal children will in the wild. Often times, eating something different than your whole family is difficult, especially when someone in the family is cooking for everyone. However, if you find yourself suffering from acne, and your diet has been fairly constant your entire life, you may want to consider changing your diet, if you can.

It may be quite difficult to change your diet, especially if you are in your teen years and are dependent on your parents for food. A sudden rebellion at the dinner table announcing that what you are eating for dinner is junk, will probably not make your parents suddenly change your diet. Many parents will be extremely resistant to changing their eating habits, and may laugh at your recommendations that the food you eat is making your acne worse. You may be told, "All kids have acne when they are young, it's just a fact of growing up, deal with it."

Well, it is known that most children in their teens do go through some form of acne. However, what determines the severity of acne in teens is not well known. There is growing evidence that diet plays a much more important role in acne severity than previously believed. And not just the fact that junk food will make you break out, but that seemingly healthy foods will lead to more severe acne in certain individuals. Just as certain people have allergies, certain people may have certain acne triggers as the result of eating particular foods.

For instance, think about how often you eat your favorite cereal. Most teens eat cereal every morning, and some eat cereal twice a day. Eating a carb dense diet may increase your chances of more severe acne. Additionally, eating milk every single day, sometimes twice a day, may not be the best way for your particular body to get the nutrients that it needs. Your body may have a certain reactions to your favorite foods that results in more severe acne. You won't know until you change your diet and experiment.
